Segment 1: The World Economic Forum (WEF) The major international force behind the “Great Reset” is the World Economic Forum and its founder Klaus Schwab. The series begins with a segment on what the WEF organization is: its membership, meetings, subgroups, advocates and initiatives. The current major initiative of the WEF is the Great Reset. The segment also explains what the Great Reset is: the ideology, themes, goals and advocacy.
Segment 2: The Fourth Industrial Revolution The 1st Industrial Revolution started with the invention of the steam engine in late 18th century and led to mechanical production. The 2nd was fostered by the advent of electricity and the assembly line resulting in mass production in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The 3rd began in the 1950s called the computer or digital revolution. Klaus Schwab believes we are entering the 4th industrial revolution led by recent technological breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, robotics, 3D printing the internet of things, nanotechnology, and biotechnology among others. The segment provides a view of each of these emerging technologies.
Segment 3: Shaping the Future of the 4th Industrial Revolution The excerpts in segment 3 postulate how the 4th Industrial Revolution will impact the world: the worldwide economy, business, governments, people and world peace. Klaus Schwab also presents the challenges the revolution will bring to the world: on society, worldwide inequality, and each of us as individuals. This forms the basis for some of the WEF ideology targeted to shape the outcome of the revolution, most particularly the environment, wealth distribution, political systems, as well as economic and leadership models. He further opines on how the corona virus pandemic exposes the frailty of the global governance systems which provides a platform for change.
Segment 4: The Great Reset Counter As was stated in the introduction, the series is presented as the WEF advocacy and the critics response. Segments 2 & 3 were from two of the five books Klaus Schwab has written. This segment is a counter to those two segments featuring the views of Glenn Beck plus commentary from Marc Morano, Alex Jones, and Peter Breggin. Thus, both sides of the advocacy are presented on the overall ideology of the WEF so you can start to form your own conclusions.
Segment 5: Who Came Up with These Ideas? Many of Schwab’s ideas seemingly emanated from globalist’s ideas and in turn influenced globalists views as they intersected and merged. This segment analyzes some of the views of globalist predecessors to the WEF, The Trilateral Commission and the Club of Rome; plus, the views of one of Schwab’s leading advisers Yuval Noah Harari. Of particular note is a quote on the “need for a common enemy” in the Club of Rome and its association with the environmental movement.
Segment 6: Climate Change and Sustainability The corona virus pandemic caused Schwab to further define his ideology which is presented in his last three books and ultimately resulted in the “Great Reset.” In so doing, six specific elements of the “Great Reset” were defined which are contained in the next six segments. This segment focuses on the first of the six, Climate Change and Sustainability. This is at the core of Schwab’s and the WEF’s ideology believing that global change is a must, in order to save the planet. The critic’s counter to this is also presented via excerpts.
Segment 7: Economic Reset & Income Inequality This segment is really two segments incorporated into one. The first part – economic reset – is seemingly the way Schwab plans to finance his total global transformation: the “Modern Monetary Theory.” The second part is income inequality. In it Schwab describes the need and the challenge. Critic’s views on both are contained in the excerpts.
Segment 8: Stakeholder Capitalism Schwab’s ideology calls for reset in many aspects of the global framework: economic reset, societal reset, geopolitical reset, environmental reset, and technological reset. Stakeholder capitalism is the means by which he envisions all of these resets to be implemented. Fundamentally, this is a fusion of business leaders, governmental leaders, nonprofit leaders to manage the globe. Stakeholder capitalism seemingly is the first step in this fusion process. Again, Schwab’s views are articulated first, followed by his critics responses.
Segment 9: The Effect of COVID – 19 Schwab clearly sees the pandemic as an opportunity to accelerate his agenda by pointing out the need for creating a better world because of the mistakes and consequences of the world’s actions in fighting the COVID-19 virus and what that would entail. The critics react by articulating that Schwab’s ideology would build on the totalitarianism increase exhibited in the pandemic further endangering our democracy.
Segment 10: Digital Governance Both Schwab and his critics are predicting that digital governance is going to greatly increase at the sacrifice of individual privacy: digital currency, digital passports, digital ID’s, digital carbon usage tracking, digital surveillance. Schwab points out that it is already prevalent in many societies, e.g., China, and the pandemic will spur its spread, in the name of public health. His critics agree pointing out that half the population in the U.S. are supportive of increased digital governance even at the risk of enabling further deterioration towards totalitarianism and loss of some of our freedoms.
Segment 11: Corporate and State Governance The WEF and Klaus Schwab are advocating that globalism is essential to achieve income equality for the people and sustainability for the global economy and protecting the environment. That democratic governments are failing to effectively manage globalization and need to be replaced by stakeholder capitalism. The critics contend that soft authoritarianism and being ruled by a group of unelected bureaucratic elites would result in a total loss of the freedoms we now enjoy. This segment ends the point counterpoint between Klaus Schwab and his critics.
Segment 12: Global Predators Global predators are an international movement of rich and powerful entities that are pushing the world toward more top-down government with the accumulation of increasing power and wealth among powerful individuals and groups commonly defined as globalists or the elite. This segment provides some insight on who they are, their thinking on worldwide governance, and actions they are taking in that regard.
Segment 13: A New Normal A new normal came about in the years 2020-2022 that is very different than the West’s old normal as the excerpts in this segment reveal. The new normal is a decided threat to democracy. This segment is intended to get people thinking about which normal they want and how willing they are to fight for it.
Segment 14: World Order The series up to this point has centered around the efforts of the World Economic Forum and other global elites and the critic’s perspective on their ideology, plans and actions, mostly fashioned post-pandemic. This segment backs away from the debate and addresses the issue of world order from an historical perspective as viewed by Henry Kissinger in his 2014 book, World Order. The segment will provide some insight on whether the “Great Reset” can be adopted worldwide. To view thebook listing click here:COVID Pandemic Critique Book Listing
